Finally: Buzz Tubert, the son of former Telegram & Gazette columnist Jack Tubert, recently scored his first career hole-in-one - and won a car for his accomplishment. Tubert, who plays regularly at Holden Hills and carries a 10 handicap, scored his ace on the par-3, 153-yard fourth hole at the Tunixis Plantation course in Connecticut during the Food Share Tournament. He used a 5-iron. Playing with Tubert, who works at Wyman-Gordon Co., were Greg Tormey, Todd Wright and Paul Horath. "What a surprise it was for me to watch the ball drop in the hole and later to learn that I won a Toyota Camry," Tubert said. |
