Million-dollar reason
for pinpoint accuracy
AUCKLAND -- A pitcher could earn $1 million at Aukland's Royal Easter Show this year.
A horse shoe pitching com- petition will make it's show debut with a $1 million payout to anyone slick enough to throw ''ringers'' from five attempts.
But it won't be easy -- a ringer is when the tossed horse shoe
lands and hooks onto a 30cm-tall pin in the ground more than 11m away.
The event is being organized by the Metro Cowboys Association, which said the game was a feature of rodeos and western carnivals in the United States, where a professional circuit has started.
