I See a GREEN Door in THE Green Monster and I Want it to Open Opening Night Fenway Park STORY Walking thru a Hidden Secret Trap Door and into THE Green Monster - Opening Night Fenway Park Boston First Off I and 60+ others ( EXCEPT for Hartford CT Super Stones Fan Bob Cianciosi who took his 14 year old daughter pictured above to see The Stones for the very First time . . . BUT . . . did not think to get her a Fake ID to get her into any Pre Concert Pub Parties and had to wait Outside? Such Poor Poor Parenting LOL - We know Stones Fans / Parents all they think about is getting a setlist and a selfie with Mick in the backgound LOL ) . . . for us with Legit & Proper Fake ID's we were all Pre-Gaming . . . Hanging at the local bar scene on the famous Lansdowne Street behind Fenway Park with all kinda Serious Stones fans Eating & Drinking prior to the 2005 Tour's Opening Night . . . the Street Party was memorable in itself . . . especially when the local paparazzi, media & photographers showed up to take a picture of the Pour House Party Bar in the back room of their Pub just for Stones Fans to really Let It Loose ( BTW I of course just happened to be in the front Bar at the time LOL ) . . . and it made the local social section of the newspapers ( see photo above ) . . . BUT . . . Time for Opening Night Waits for No One and it wont wait for . . . the last 20-30 stragglers of the party from the Pour House that started Prim Prancing Down Lansdowne together towards Yawkey Way . . . onward to the complete opposite side of the Boston Red Sox Baseball stadium where the entrances for the Ball Games and the Concert are located . . . I fortunately noticed a Hidden BACKDOOR cut into the back wall of the Green Monster Wall right on Lansdowne that only opens from the inside. A Slit in the Wall Cracked open just a sliver with a pair of eyeballs peaking out . . . I had purchased a VIP package as did about 30 others with The Rolling Stones VIP Travel . . . Hotel - Concert Tickets and some swag package was included in which, in addition there was to be a VIP entrance. It did NOT state where but maybe it would be on Landsdowne St. Probably Not, as usually the VIP entrance is off to the side of the main entrances . . . BUT . . . they told us that it was discontinued anyway and to just enter through the regular local entrance gates . . . Anyway . . . I showed my VIP Pass as did my plus-1 Mary to the eyeballs peaking out of the slit . . . without hesitation he said come right in and slammed the Trap Green door shut behind us . . . What ensued was a grand tour of the inner workings of The Green Monster from the top to the bottom. WOW-WEE. Its like a 3 story submarine in there with fuggin tight quarters and areas. Shared a few Complimentary Sam Adams, during this Green Door - Green Monster tour. This Pre Concert party inside the Green Monstor was Boston Strong. Gazing all around, investigating the inner workings like how the runs-numbers are placed into the slots that the Fenway Park workers will be using to look out to watch the Stones perform thru, plus being offered more beverages. So Kool . . . Then it came to an end of this impromptu "I See a Green Door in the Green Monster and . . . " Mini Party with the Green Monster Staff that used their sway to get to show up at work on their day off, to do nothing but to hang out to party and catch The Stones on Opening Night. After all the unexpected niceties finished up, we were politely exited out at the bottom of the wall, field level. Where we walked out "I See another Green Door" . . . rite out into Left Field area . . . and not a soul was in that Outfield area . . . it was left empty as it was far far left of the stage. No Seats. No GA. No Standing with an Obstructed View of the Stage for fans. NO Nothing for a Concert Go-er . . . Just Fenway Park Grass under our feet. It was Left Left field. Yaz – Manny – I know shoulda been my first thought but it was actually Jimmy Piersall “Fear Strikes Out” the Classic movie. Watch it, if ya don’t know about it . . . it works much better into this story. Anyway from there our seats are now Way over in Right field . . . and in order to get over to right field we had to walk through a Small Super Private VIP area that had No Back entrance? All we could see was Super High End Boston Patriot Linbacker Super Sized Security Bouncers all around, this area was for Steven Tyler and Red Sox’s hierarchy to mingle. Not our Crowd. I am a NY Mets Fan Anyway LOL. There was no where to go but back over the Green Monster as the door is shut, or to the Bouncers and attempt to Sweet talk our way through the Super VIP area, cross over to our seats on the right side of the stage. Security looked at us real REAL REAL funny, like how did we get to here, Parachute? There is no visable way to get to the back of this VIP party, unless ya knew the inner workings of the Green Monster Doors. I don't think they knew anything about the Green Monster Wall . . . just an a typical Suit & Tie Rent-a-Security for VIP party persons. What Now? They asked around to some Upper Crust management superiors if we could pass through their private cocktail party and they all were surprisingly totally super kool . . . just letting us walk right thru the BoSox High End Center Left Center Field Cocktail Party . . . Its All Good with them . . . But Sorry, I am not here to be getting down with you Mr. Tyler tonight, so wedid not stop . . . thats a different Opening Night ticket LOL . . . So we Strolled across the VIP party of 20 ish of Owners, Upper Management and Aeroforce One Entourage & Minglers, Acting Like we were there to Purchase the Place LOL . . . Now . . . in order to get to Right Field we had to and got escorted to go inside the Rail . . . the whole front of the stage inside the stage barriors, with total security clearance, everyone just letting us "Walk this Way" like we work for the RedSox?, Ameriquest? or even the Stones? . . . and then . . . taking our time of course checking out all the views looking out from the stage . . . finally over to our seats on the far far FAR Right Field row 11. We get to Take our Stones Travel Seats – thinking were we the only ones to get to use the Stones VIP Travel Entrance or just got Lucky. OH WEll, I look around for the closest beverage booth. Now . . . on with the Stones Show, after a Pre Party and Post Pre Party w/ a Special Entrance to remember. and Thanks Bob ... for Contributing |
