SAND DOLLAR - LAS VEGAS 2016 SYMPATHY for the CANCELLED DEVIL of a SHOW STORY The Sand Dollar was a great party to attend, because it was an impromto get together pop-up AND Of Course put on by Tim Ries, Bernard Fowler & Jimmy McIntosh (Local Vegas Guitar Hero) as a fill in and More due to that fact the first of the Two Vegas shows was cancelled as Mick as well as many fans came down with a raw hoarse throat from all the dust kicking up over at the Desert for Coachella. Tim Ries & Bernard Fowler of The Rolling Stones with Jimmy Mac Orchestrated and Performed at The Sand Dollar Gig which is a Classic Old School Blues Dive Bar "Basement Room" Vibe Bar with an extensive music history in Vegas. Most of the crowd found out on a facebook post and/or while at a Fun Super Well Attended Shidoobee Fan Club get together at some Large Dive bar, that was SO Far Away Eyes outta town, Away from the Strip, my taxi driver Not Only Never heard of the place, never even heard of the neighborhood it was in LOL. But a Killer Pre party and Super well attended. Anyway, trying to get taxi's from that bar over yonder to The Sand Bar was a bit of an ordeal, so leaving early from there to go to the Sand Dollar, ya HAD HAD HAD to start early and of course if ya wanted to Get in, or be on top of the stage at the Sand Dollar, or your only show in Vegas was show # 1, and ya needed a Stones Fix, ya needed to leave in the middle of that party. Onto the show, I was probably about the 100th to enter and with a capapcity of 170, that put me at the bar, middle of the room. The stage area which holds about 1/3 of the Capacity, was as expected already swamped, all that was left was the Bar area and a back room area, where ya could hardly see the stage. I ended up at the Bar with The Nola's from Long Island Long Time Rolling Stones Travelers Friends. More friends of the Stones Band A and Band B walked in Ivan Neville & Ben Waters. You knew something kool was gonna take place. Along with Jimmy McIntosh who is a seasoned Vegas musician - Guitarist and long time friends with Ronnie Wood & Ivan Neville who Both played on his album. The show was all you could ask for in a Slam it all Together & Play. Drinks flowed - Music Glowed. Simply Stones Members and their Friends killing it on stage. My fave was Ben Waters doing a Boogie Woogie Compilation that never stopped, and all the while band members having drinks at the bar with the folks to the wee hours. Now it was back to The Strip and onto Vegas Show #2 which is Now Show # 1 & Only. THANK YOU Tim Bernard Ivan Ben Jimmy and all the rest. Tremendous Time.
